A Smarter Way to Handle Your Krones Contiform Heaters
Let’s be honest: keeping a Krones Contiform line running is expensive. Especially when you look at the bill for OEM replacement lamps. It feels like a tax just for keeping the machines moving. We decided to fix that. We make quartz heater elements that do exactly what the original Krones lamps do—matching the heat and the electrical specs—but without the eye-watering price tag. You get the same bottle quality, just fewer headaches when it comes to your budget.
Getting the heat right
If your heat distribution is off, you’re in trouble. You start seeing pearlescence or weird, uneven walls in your bottles. It’s a nightmare. That’s why we obsess over the wattage-per-centimeter ratio. If that density is even slightly off, you get cold spots in the preform. We’ve built these to be true drop-in replacements. You won’t have to mess with your control cabinets or spend hours tweaking your timers. You just swap them in and get back to work.
The nitty-gritty: Quartz and Connectors
These tubes take a beating. The constant heating and cooling (thermal cycling) can kill a cheap lamp fast. We use high-purity fused quartz to make sure they actually last. Plus, many of our units use a halogen gas fill. This lets the filament run hotter while actually extending its life. Then there’s the fit. We use standard R7s or Sk15 connectors, depending on which generation of machine you’re running. Why? Because a loose connection is a disaster. It leads to arcing, and before you know it, you’re replacing your sockets too. We make sure the fit is tight.
Real talk from the shop floor
Here is the thing: these lamps pump out a massive amount of infrared energy. Because we’re pushing so much power into such a small space, your oven’s ventilation has to be spot on. If your cooling fans are clogged with dust, the ambient heat will kill your filaments—no matter how high the quality of the lamp is. For plants running 24/7, where burning through lamps is just a daily chore, this is the way to go. You get the exact same heat profile as the OEM part, but you’re buying direct from the factory. It just makes sense.
