You want that intense, cozy heat, but you don’t want the lamp to feel like a spotlight in an interrogation room. If you’re installing these in a home with babies or people with sensitive eyes, the light coming off the lamp is the only thing you should really be worrying about. Saving Your Eyes Standard short-wave IR lamps can be brutal. If you look straight at the filament, it can actually damage your retinas. Nobody wants that. To fix this, we put a special coating on the quartz glass. Think of it as a filter. It blocks the harsh UV and visible light but lets the heat slide right through. You get all the warmth on your skin, but the light stays soft. No more squinting or that “blinding” flash you get with cheap industrial heaters. Fighting the Steam Bathrooms are a nightmare for electronics. Between the steam and the humidity, electrical contacts usually corrode in no time. That’s why we build these to IP65 standards. In plain English? The seal between the glass tube and the end caps is totally airtight. We use high-temp gaskets to make sure moisture can’t sneak into the filament chamber. If even a little bit of dampness gets in there, the tungsten filament oxidizes and snaps. Game over. Getting Them Installed These are simple drop-in replacements. Just slide them into your current sockets, wire them up, and you’re good to go. One quick heads-up: that eye-protection coating does take a tiny bit of heat with it. You might notice a 5-10% dip in peak temperature compared to a clear tube. It’s a small price to pay to make sure the lights are safe. And a pro tip—keep your reflectors clean. A layer of dust will kill your efficiency way faster than the coating ever will.
