If you’re running Husky HyPET high-speed systems, you know the struggle. You need the PET preforms to hit that glass transition temperature perfectly. But there’s a catch: if you push too hard, you scorch the surface. It’s a delicate balance. That’s why we built our replacement lamps differently. We focused on short-wave infrared emission. In plain English? We make sure the heat actually gets inside the preform wall instead of just sitting on the surface.
Why “Penetration” Actually Matters
Here’s the thing about standard lamps: they tend to cook the outer skin while the core stays cold. When that happens, you end up with uneven wall thickness in your bottles. Not ideal. We fixed this by using a high-density tungsten filament and a specific quartz blend to shift the light spectrum. It lets the energy soak into those PET polymer chains. The result is a preform that’s heated evenly all the way through.
The Nitty-Gritty on Fit and Finish
Nobody wants to spend hours fighting with a part that doesn’t fit. Our lamps are simple drop-in replacements for Krones and Husky setups. We obsess over the length and the contact points so they slide right into the oven rails without any stress. We also reinforced the end-caps. Why? Because if the halogen gas leaks, the lamp burns out almost instantly. Our sealing process keeps that gas trapped, which means your lamps actually last. Plus, we’ve got different wattage and voltage options to match whatever power supply you’re running.
A Quick Word of Caution
These lamps pack a punch. They deliver a massive amount of heat density, which is great for high-speed cycles, but it does put some pressure on your cooling fans. If your vents are clogged or your cooling system is a bit undersized, the oven is going to get hot. Really hot. Keep an eye on your ventilation; if the lamps overheat, they won’t live nearly as long. We built these to take a beating in 24/7 production environments. Just make sure you align them properly during installation. That’s the secret to avoiding those annoying hotspots on your preforms.
