
Stop Fighting With Your Infrared Lamps
If you’ve ever run a PET blowing line, you know the headache. You order a replacement lamp, wait for it to arrive, and then realize the wattage is slightly off or the connector just won’t seat right. It’s frustrating. You’re staring at a downed machine while trying to make a part fit that was supposed to be “compatible.” We got tired of that. So, we built an infrared lamp for the SBO6 and other global lines that actually just works. We stripped away the brand nonsense and focused on the stuff that matters: the physical size and the electrical load that 95% of these machines actually use.
Getting the Heat Right
Here’s the thing about PET preforms: if you don’t hit that glass transition temperature exactly, you’re in trouble. We tweaked the tungsten filament geometry to push the heat right into the center of the tube. Why? Because “cold spots” are the enemy. When the heat is consistent, your thermal profile stays steady, and your bottles come out right every time. But a word of caution. We’re pushing over 2500W through a pretty compact tube. That’s a lot of intensity. Just make sure your forced-air cooling is dialed in. If it’s not, you’re just asking for the filament to burn out early.
No More Flimsy Connections
We used high-purity quartz glass with a special coating. Instead of wasting energy heating up your machine frame, more of that heat actually hits the plastic. It’s just more efficient. As for the plugs, we stuck with R7s and Sk15 sockets. They’re the old reliable of the industry. We also beefed up the contact points. No arcing, no loose fits, no praying that it stays connected. Plus, the quartz is tough enough to handle the constant heating and cooling of a 24/7 production schedule without cracking.
Just Swap and Go
These are true drop-in replacements. You won’t need to mess with your reflectors or bend your mounting brackets to make them fit. We keep these in stock for a reason. We know that a blown lamp on an SBO6 line means you’re losing tonnage every minute the machine is silent. Swap the tube, double-check your voltage, and get your cycle moving again. Simple as that.
