We’ve all seen it. Standard OEM parts just aren’t built for the actual stress of a busy floor. That’s why we built these replacement lamps specifically for the Techne blow molder. The Heat Struggle Here is the thing about heat: you need it precise. If you’re too low, the PET doesn’t hit that sweet spot. Too high, and you’re ruining the plastic. Most people try to crank up the heat density to squeeze out faster cycle speeds. But that puts a massive amount of stress on the quartz tube. Standard tubes bow or crack under that pressure. Ours use a reinforced quartz mix that actually holds its shape when things get hot. Built for the Chaos If you look at where most lamps fail, it’s usually at the pinch seal or the electrode contact. It’s the weakest link. We beefed up the ends of these lamps to handle the constant vibration and the thermal “yo-yo” effect of a high-speed environment. Plus, the fit is tight. A loose fit leads to arcing, and arcing is what fries your sockets and kills your lamps. Simple as that. What to Expect The best part? You don’t have to rewire a thing. They drop right into your Techne molder’s existing footprint. One heads-up, though. Because these are reinforced for the long haul, they aren’t “instant-on” like the thinner, cheaper tubes. You might notice the ramp-up takes a few seconds longer. But that’s a trade-off worth making. You get a stable infrared output, which means no more “cold spots” in your preforms and way fewer burst bottles hitting the scrap bin. Just do me a favor: keep your cooling fans clear of dust and debris. Even the toughest lamp on the market will give up if the housing gets too hot.
